How to
hook up and record the
camera systems ![]() This

monitor. You can also hook the reciever to a TV, VCR, DVR,

started out using the cameras wirelessly out of the box and I just hook
it to a TV/VCR combo. Later I used
a USB 4 channel DVR similar to this one to hook my cameras into my
laptop. You can also just hook the wireless receiver
that comes with the cameras to a TV or monitor. I
just liked to use my laptop as a monitor but the other 2 sets of these
we use have flat screen monitors.

I didn't use a DVR I could hook them directly to my laptop using a usb
video capture device. You can also just hook them up
to a vcr or dvr to record them. This is the USB video capture device I
use and we'll have them available here

then got 4 channel DVRs (for under $250) and ran cables to all
the cameras and that is what we use on all three set ups
now. We have RCA jack video cables with
power supply in 100' lengths and that is not expensive
either. I still use my laptop as my monitor but we
use flat screen monitors with the other 2 sets along with the same DVR
you see above. It's a Piczel 4 channel DVR.
![]() BNC cable (the red and yellow ends are called RCA type plugs) ![]() Why BNC cable? Yellow is the video (RCA) white is audio (RCA) and red is the power for the camera. ![]() Depending
on how you hook them up and what kind of monitor, DVR or laptop you use
you
may need a few other connectors to make the hook up
complete. Here are some examples and they are all
inexpensive.
![]() BCN - Female RCA ![]() BNC - RCA male ![]() This is a BNC/RCA to VGA (computer monitors use VGA) so you can hook up a computer monitor to your DVR. Some DVRs have a VGA output already but if yours doesnt you just get one of these.
